A New Columns & Interviews’ Section

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Hello community!

I’ve thought about how to make the website more open and accessible to new users, who’re maybe less informed about Anime, and to expand our journalistic offerings to the Internet. So, as of today, I’ve decided to start a new section (yet to be named) in the Columns & Interviews -page, where an outside writer can have his/her essay published on our website.

The section itself doesn’t have any requirements in terms of content - you can write about anything you wish, be it Politics, Science, Anime or anything beyond. The only demands we have is that the content is well-written, original and clean. No objectionable material will be published! Please take a look at the Terms & Conditions of the website for further information about published material. I’ll review each entry myself, and based on the amount of material we get, the interval in which we’d publish new pieces. For now, it’ll be once a month.

So, if you’re interested in getting your piece published to the masses at large, please send me your entries via e-mail.
NOTE!
Not as an attachment, but as writing in the e-mail itself. All e-mails with only an attachment will be deleted and not reviewed at all, so keep that in mind.

Start writing and send me your entries! My aim is to have the first one published by Mid-February, so send them ASAP. If you have any questions about this, please direct them to the Forum, or send me an e-mail with your inquiry.

I’ll be sure to tell you more about this segment, as I get it set up and come up with a name!

Regards,

Website Update #8

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Hello people!

Yesterday was a grand day, and so is today. Not only did Barack Obama start off his Presidency, but I also added 2 new reviews today!

Yes, it was a while back that I promised a new one, but due to some difficulties on my own part and some technical stuff, I managed to add them today at last. But, as stated, I added 2 to give you one as an added bonus. They’re reviews on the great Ai Yori Aoshi, and its sequel Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi. Please check them out and give me some feedback!

No other news to report on my side. Things are going smoothly and we’re getting more and more people onto the Forums.

I also encourage you guys to register onto my Blog here, so that you can directly comment on what ever I might talk about! Makes things simpler, and a lot more interactive, I think.

More to come later!

Regards,

Issues - Apology

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Hello community!

I’ve had some issues with getting my reviews from my personal stash, so I haven’t been able to add the review I promised, nor work on anything new. I’ll have this solved during the weekend the very latest, but hopefully I’ll get it done before that.

Life’s been hectic, so I apologize!

We’ve had a nice amount of new people on the Forum, but the more the merrier - also we need active members who’ll contribute to the actual Forum and help me build and correct the website and its content!

2009 has been great so far, hopefully it won’t fly by as quickly as ‘08 did.

Website Update #7

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Happy New Year 2009 everyone!

As we step into the new year, I’ve thought a lot about where the website is headed and how it’ll develop. I have no real plans to expand the website any further in terms of new functions or ideas, but we’ll stick with the old plan and I’ll keep adding reviews as I get to them. Noting the slow and surprisingly slim development of the Forums especially, I see no reason to expand beyond my means of maintaining the entire thing, and the room we have for it. On a daily basis we have close to a 1000 unique hits, yet they seem to be only fleeding passer-bys, and we’ve yet to create a nucleus of users. I must admit, the slim selection of reviews we have so far might attribute to this in a very huge way.

I’ll be adding a new review tomorrow for you guys to enjoy, and as a hint, the name starts with a G and has 2 words in it.

No other developments to tell you guys of. I checked the survey, but it seems it had closed up a bit earlier than I expected, or had not worked at all, so I didn’t have any accessible material to review. We’ll see if I’ll conduct a new one come Summer.

The Forum grows slowly, but steadily, yet people seem to only register and not post any comments or topics. I’d love to hear what you guys think and any constructive ideas would be great to hear!

Send me e-mails and comment on any thing on the website, if you wish!

2009 regards,

Website Update #6 - The Year 2008

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Hi everyone!

Man, it seems like only yesterday that the year 2000 hit - and we’re already going fast towards the first decade in the new millennium.

The year 2008 has really been a year of change for us at Anime Reviews. We went over a huge overhaul, not only in terms of looks with the new template, but also through the new hosting service we acquired closer to the end of the year. We’re still a bit in the transitional phase, but soon it’ll all be better. I’ve ironed out most of the bugs and issues we had, but some might still be lurking out there. I couldn’t have been happier with the hosting package we were given, not to mention the domain with it, so I’d like to warmly thank Lunarpages for giving us the opportunity to expand and grow as a website.

Added functions and better servers helped us grow the user limits, and a new and improved Forum helped shape a new Anime Reviews’ Community - which is ever growing and remember to join in!

I’ll add more material as the year changes, so be alert for that! I’ll also be looking more into as to what you guys want from the website and its content, so I hope most of you will help me with that later on. New reviews will be added in proper intervals, but also some new Columns might be looked into, as well as possible future Interviews with people who’re in the Anime scene. The year 2009 will be even better than ‘08, if all goes well!

I sincerely wish you all a Happy New Year 2009 from all of us here at Anime Reviews, and I wish all of your New Year’s declarations will hold and come true!

With great anticipation for the coming year,

- Lasak

Website Update #2

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Hello Community!

As you might’ve noticed, updating the site has been slow, but steady. I’ve gotten all of the Interviews added soon enough, so more content added as promised.

I’ll tackle the Reviews next week, so you should see some of them added as the week progresses.

I’ve also been thinking of conducting new Interviews, and here’s where I want you guys to give me some input! Comment here, or go to the Forum, and suggest people or organizations to interview. As we’ve interviewed voice-actors and an anime sales company, I’m looking for some fresh ideas - but more of the earlier categories are good ones also!

I’ve been working on some new material also, but I’ll add more of the older material before I publish anything new. More on that later.

That’s what’s been boiling down here at Anime Reviews lately. We still need people to join the Forum, so go there and become a part of the Community!

Sincerely,

- Lasak

Website Update #1

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Hello readers!

As you may have noticed, Anime Reviews has been going through a major transition within the last week or so. Since the 18th of October, the website has moved to an entirely different host, and gotten a new domain. The new website is located at http://www.anime-reviews.info - remember to Bookmark the website, so you can easily visit it again later!

I’ve been adding all of the old material to the new server, and it’ll take more time for me to be able to add them all there and then to the website again. All of this is a lot of work, and having a regular job in addition to this makes the move all the more slow. I’ll try to get everything set up as soon as possible, but please be patient. I’ve already gotten the Columns up on the site, and I’ll try to get the Interviews added today.

I’d also like to personally thank Lunarpages again for wanting to sponsor us and host the site, with both great webhosting and a domain. They’ve been great with the transition, and I couldn’t have been more happy with the service and the quality. I hope this co-operation will benefit both parties.

That’s all I can say about the website as of now, but if you have any questions you want to ask, or any feedback you want to give, please go to the Community Forum and join in, or send me an e-mail at Lasak@anime-reviews.info.

I’ll get back to you once I’ve got some more news about the website.
